RPS is expanding the senior Built Heritage & Archaeological Consultancy business based out of our London office. We are looking to recruit experienced senior level consultants across a range of skill sets at Associate or Director level to compliment our well established and successful team. We are interested in talking to experienced subject matter experts with a proven ability related to business development, project management and excellent people skills.

Your role

This is a key position as part of the leadership team of successful business unit. You would be the contact point for both the client and your business unit directors. You’ll get to work with a wide range of clients on diverse schemes that affect all types of built heritage assets managing all aspects of a job and developing strong working relationships with other members of the project design teams and the clients.

You’ll be joining a strong collaborative team that includes: architects, landscape architects, surveyors, art historians, conservation officers, buildings, archaeologists, planners and urban designers who are highly-skilled, committed and passionate professionals. You will be providing pragmatic advice and support to our clients becoming a trusted advisor on multiple schemes.

Your skills/experience

You’ll have great mentoring/coaching skills and be creative and strategic in your approach. You’ll be used to a client-facing role and have an established market reputation and work-winning ability. Good financial and project management skills are a must, as are great influencing and communication skills that enable you to build, maintain and consolidate strong working relationships with colleagues, clients and external bodies.

Ideally you should have first or second degree in Built Heritage or a related subject and be an associate or full member of the IHBC. You’ll be a subject matter expert in your field, a highly experienced and competent practitioner with strong leadership qualities. You’ll be knowledgeable within at least 2 key sectors or geographies and in the analysis, interpretation and pragmatic implementation of legislation and policy applicable to your discipline
