Senior Mechanical Engineer– Building Services
Reports to: Director
Main Purpose of the Job
Reporting to the director you will manage and lead the mechanical building services elements of complex or highly technical projects. You will be expected to work on the mechanical building services elements on a variety of sectors, including: Commercial Offices Cat ‘A’ and Cat’ B’, Education projects including Colleges, Primary, Secondary and SEN Schools, Residential schemes and Retail including Shopping Complexes, Mixed-Use schemes.
Main Duties and Responsibilities;
- Management of projects to achieve client satisfaction and profitability for the business
- Identify and manage resources to achieve project requirements
- Financial management and reporting on project profitabilityTechnical and quality reviews of project information
- Developing conceptual & detailed designs solutions in line with client’s brief
- Production of mechanical specifications
- Production of Reports.Represent the business at external functions
- Assist the Directors as required in the preparation of fee submissions and project bidsConduct oneself professionally at all times and in a responsible manner
- Reviewing technical competency of mechanical engineering building services work
- Design, supervision and technical reviewing of allocated projects
- Provide specialist technical advice and guidance at project and group level
- Management, supervision and mentoring of intermediate and graduate engineers
What Qualifications, Experience & Skills are; Essential or Preferred to be successful in the role?
- HNC / Degree level in a relevant subject such as Building Servicesor Mechanical Engineering.
- Chartered Engineer level
- Highly experienced in the production of detailed mechanical design solutions for the full range of HVAC services through all RIBA Stages.
- Minimum 3-5 years current UK consultancy practice experience.
- Highly experienced in the production of detailed mechanical design solutions for the full range of renewable energy sourcesHave knowledge of the latest UK building regulations and calculation software.
- Have knowledge of the London Plan requirements.
