RPS is currently seeking a Building Surveyor to join our dynamic Consulting business as we continue to support our clients and solve problems that matter.


As a Building Surveyor at RPS based in our London office with agile working, you will be joining a growing team working with great clients on a variety of challenging and interesting schemes – We are currently working with some of the most forward thinking and dynamic businesses and your work will include building surveying duties across the full spectrum of professional services.

This role is integral to the growth of our London team and would suit an ambitious and dynamic final year APC candidate or recently qualified Chartered Building Surveyor with up to 3 years PQE.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide reasoned and robust technical advice to clients

  • Undertaking a variety of building surveys and inspections for commercial and public sector clients

  • Assist with defect analysis inspections and building pathology

  • Assist in establishing a client’s requirements and undertake feasibility studies

  • Prepare and review specifications of works

  • Prepare tender and contract documents, primarily JCT and some NEC forms

  • Analyse site activities and prepare progress reports on time, quality and cost of projects

  • Assist and advise in relation to Party Wall matters

  • Advise on and acting in accordance with CDM 2015

  • Coordinating with other members and stakeholders in the team

  • Assist in the review of leases and preparation of advice, strategy and schedules of dilapidations

  • Support the existing team to continue to build client relationships and secure repeat business

  • Identify opportunities with existing and target clients


Qualifications & experience:

  • HND, BSc Hons or Post Dip

  • Working towards final year APC or recently MRICS qualified

  • Experience in Residential, Commercial and/or Industrial sectors an advantage

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications

  • Experience in programming software (eg MS Project) an advantage

  • Experienced in report writing
